You can get many of the same goods and services from non-profits and B corporations, supporting the employees and the community more than the long term financial success of a select few.
NPEs can pay competitive salaries including profit sharing. Not giving energy to shareholders allows NPEs to focus solely on their mission and the people working to achieve it.

One of the biggest complaints of donors to traditional non-profit organizations is how little of the donation goes to the mission itself. When organizations are funded by donations alone, more than half of all donations can go to just infrastructure and administration.
By maintaining core infrastructure with commercial activity, NPEs allow a higher percentage of each donation to go directly towards fulfilling the mission of the organization.
Corporate mission statements miss the mark. Attempts at inspiring and engaging employees with bold calls to save society land flat when the entire purpose of for-profit companies is to provide value to owners.
Eliminating this need to provide disproportionate value to what people contribute to an organization allows NPEs to focus solely on the mission and the people working to achieve it.
When addressing the plan to fulfill the Basic 10 Needs for all of humanity, non-profit enterprises (NPEs) are essential and currently under-utilized. Unlike their for-profit counterparts, NPEs operate with a distinct mission, driven not by the pursuit of financial gain but by a commitment to social impact. These organizations undertake a range of endeavors, from tackling poverty and hunger to providing healthcare and education, embodying a compassionate response to the most pressing issues facing our global community.
NPEs separate themselves from standard non-profit organizations (NPOs) by seeking to offer goods and services both commercially to the general public and for free to those who need assistance. With commercial endeavors that sustain themselves financially, NPEs are allowed to use the existing infrastructure from their commercial activity to substantially increase the impact that donations have.
One of the most overlooked aspects of non-profit organizations is this ability to mirror the economic activities of for-profit businesses while remaining steadfastly dedicated to their altruistic objectives. NPEs demonstrate that economic viability and social impact are not mutually exclusive. Embracing the most effective parts of both worlds allows them to attract top-tier talent, fostering a workforce motivated by a sense of purpose rather than purely financial incentives. The result is a cadre of professionals passionately committed to making a difference, channeling their skills and expertise towards creating positive change.
The Restorative Party is all in on NPEs. We're not against people making a profit- instead we're against our society's constant prioritization of individual power over the collective good. However, we're also not so foolish to think that simply assigning responsibility to the government ensures humanity's needs are met. By targeting certain industries and creating NPEs that seeks to be leaders within them, we can provide the most efficient infrastructure possible for our goals of fulfilling the Basic 10 Needs. Then we can provide for ourselves at the operational cost of industry leading enterprises without requiring the government to regulate or tax for-profit endeavors as much.
America is as ideologically fragmented as ever, but The Restorative Party believe this is due to the abundance of empty ideas and the lack of true calls to action. The truth is that no system is so perfect ideologically that it can withstand corrupt leaders or people who don't want to do the work to make their community successful. NPEs ignore the noise and solve problems directly, eliminating the source of our division and restoring our sense of unity as a community.
NPEs offer an immediate and direct form of ensuring humanity's needs are met and greater opportunities are available to all. By operating within existing legal frameworks, NPEs embody the values of cooperation, equity, and social responsibility. It's an immediately accessible form of socialism that allows individuals and organizations to contribute actively to the well-being of others without radical structural changes system-wide, creating a dynamic and scalable model for societal betterment.
The power to effect change is not confined to ideological discussions or even legislative changes. It resides in the choices we make, the actions we take, and the organizations we support. Let us channel our energy into meaningful endeavors, contributing to the well-being of humanity and redirecting our consumer influence towards entities dedicated to a more equitable and compassionate future. From entrepreneurs rising to the call of starting NPEs over for-profit corporations to customers and donors being more mindful of the total value of their dollars, we all have direct control over our ability to fulfill the Basic 10 Needs for all of humanity. We need not fight against the system to start taking care of people; rather, we can actively create the future where economic activity prioritizes social impact over excessive profit.
Together, let us embrace the transformative potential of NPEs, turning ideals into actions and laying the foundation for a more compassionate and just society.
The Restorative Party pledges to fulfill the Basic 10 Needs for all Americans by 2040. Learn more about the needs we declare public necessities, and think about how non-profit enterprises can help provide the infrastructure required to fulfill them.
